I didn't ask why they have 2 different employees at the drive-thru speaker since I didn't wanna hold up the line. I asked the employee at the window once where the sample is, since they asked me if I'd like to try _, and she didn't seem like she knew, telling me that I can always ask for a sample at the window if I'd like.

I figured that they heard my yes, and will have the toothpick sample waiting for me when I pick up my order at the window (or if not on a toothpick, in a small cup or something). "Would you like that in a 2-entree plate?", "What size?", etc.-they just switch to the 2nd employee to start my order proper, as if my first interaction that just transpired with the 1st employee never happened. However, the initial employee doesn't modify their script or follow-up to it e.g. Most of the time in the drive-thru I say no to this, party because of impatience, but mostly because I feel it'd be awkward to the cars behind me having to wait while I'm holding up the drive-thru trying the sample. If dine-in is anything to go off of, "would you like try" means they're asking if you want a sample (i.e., on a toothpick).

What is the point of having a different employee for the "would you like to try" part? Every time I order, it will start with an employee saying "Hi, welcome to Panda, would you like to try our new _ ?" Then, whether I answer yes or no, there'll be a few-second pause, and a completely different employee will ask what I want to order and stay with me until the end of my order.
